Particularly of interest now is the advent of 3D vision. Many 3D vision software packages currently on offer represent the third dimension (height) using 2D tools. Scorpion vision software has a unique capability which means it can take a 3D image from the camera(s) and present real 3D measurements.

This is because Scorpion Vision 3D is built on an already very successful machine vision platform. With an 18 year pedigree, Scorpion can boast a very broad range of solutions to problems that have been presented to Tordivel, the Norwegian based developer of this world class technology, over the years. Scorpion Vision 3D was launched at the European Vision Show in Stuttgart in November 2007 and has since that time been deployed on a number of projects which have required the additional capabilities of a system that can measure height as well as profile an awkward surface.
